Baby Animals

Storytime Introduction:  Today we are going to read stories about baby animals.  We will do fingerplays, sing songs, play games and finish with the Circle Song, when we do the circle song we hold hands and do what the circle song says to do.  After that we will do a craft or color.

Fingerplay:
I Take a Book
I take a book (fold hands together)
And open it wide (open hands)
To see the pictures (hold out hands)
That is inside (open up hands wide)

Open a Book
Open a book (fold hands, open)
Close a book, give a little clap (close hands, clap, clap)
Open a book (fold hands, open)
Close a Book (close hands)
Now lay it on your lap (lay hands slowly on lap)

Activity: Color sorting game, handout three color pieces to each child and have them take turns bringing their colors up to the standing magnetic board.
